Well, start believing it because the developers of the app Heart Fitness have made the seemingly impossible into a possibility. They discovered a way to take advantage of the iPhone's camera and LED light to monitor your heart rate as your heart pumps blood through your finger. After installing the app, all you have to do is cover the camera lens with your index finger. The LED light shines through your finger, making it appear a reddish hue. The hue pulses each time your heart beats, and the camera detects this pulsation to provide an accurate measure of your heart rate. Nifty, eh?
