Go cable free with Apple's AirPlay feature

The second option for hooking your iPad up to your television steps is to utilize Apple's handy, but relatively unknown, feature called AirPlay. You will need to own an Apple TV to use this method. Unlike the other options featured in this article, this one does not require that you purchase any cables with which to plug your tablet into your TV. Here is how to use AirPlay to mirror videos, music, and images on your iPad onto your TV:

1. Connect your Apple TV and iPad to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Open the content you wish to transfer over to your TV screen on you iPad.

3. Tap the AirPlay button, and select "Apple TV" from the list of devices that appears. The content on your iPad should now appear enlarged on your TV screen.
