Fine free iPhone music apps

There are a lot of good apps in the AppStore to buy but why to pay money for iPhone’s expensive music apps if they have minimal functions? I agree with you completely that it doesn’t make sense and that is why I review my personal favorite and free iPhone music apps you can easily download and install from the AppStore without paying a cent.

1. Pandora

Pandora Radio (the mobile app for the users of the same titled website) made its way through the wall of the problems the built-in iPhone radio has. The program has just a bunch of features that I have never seen before.

For example, radio stations are divided by genre - rock, rap, jazz and pop. It is very convenient - music lovers will not have to spend hours by switching stations while they find something they really like. Also the zest of the program offers the ability to search for a song by title - you enter the title and the tool shows a station that plays this song. In addition a user can create lists of favorite songs or stations, add comments to songs and rate them. I think it is the best online streaming radio service on an iPhone so far.

2. Shazam

With Shazam you can find out pretty quickly the title of any unknown song, as long as you have this song playing in a club or at home. To find out the titel of a new song you liked you should launch Shazam and the program will determine the song automatically after you click on Listen. After the scan of a played song the program makes a request and obtains information from the database like the title track, artist and even the list of covers and remixes.

Shazam also has such features as: to share the recognized songs with friends on Facebook, Twitter and Shazam’s blog; view information on tours of artists, stream YouTube videos, check the history of locations of your searches and even search for songs and albums on the iTunes website.

3. Last.Fm for iPhone

Use Last.fm application designed especially for iOS devices and check the history on music tracks you and your friends have listened to. Get music recommendations from the program based on your taste.

What is in the latest version of Last.Fm? A user can view his profile on Last.fm (with charts, history, recently listened tracks and friends’ links) from a mobile phone; find out about the upcoming concerts, browse information about artists, albums, songs and the tags in the music database of Last.Fm, listen to new stations, customize stations on the go and may other awesome options a user of Last.Fm will definitely appreciate. Plus the new version of Last.Fm application for an iPhone supports the Retina HD display.

4. Songza

Of course, there are plenty of online services streaming musci, some even with stunning playlists allowing sharing musical compositions between friends, but Songza went far from this stereotype and offers a bit different service unlike Spotify and Pandora. Its most interesting feature is called Concierge and it creates playlists based on the date and time, choosing the music according to various moods.

For example, you woke up in the morning on Wednesday morning, launched the app’s function Concierge and decided that you should hear something while driving a school or work, while slowly waking up, or during the morning warming up. Songza offers a variety of filters to create a playlist according to user’s "activities" like sincere, aggressive, ironic, romantic and calm melodies based playlists.

But another part of the application is a search that helps to find out about new music tracks. Of course, Concierge can do the same, but the function of search really helps to find the best music fitting special occasions or moods.
