brain storm What is the iPhone screen resolution?
iPhone Screen Resolution
While different iPhone generations have pretty much the same shape and are very similar in physical size, they are quite different in terms of tech specs. Some models have better processors, more storage capacity, and more memory. And surely, along with other hardware, the iPhone's screen, which is responsible for a major part of the user experience, has seen quite an upgrade.
The first three iPhone generations (iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS) were equipped with a 9 cm (3.5 inches) 320 × 480 HVGA screen capable of delivering at 163 points per inch (ppi).

The last generations of the iPhone (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S) feature the same liquid crystal displays with scratch-resistant glass as older ones but offer a solid improvement in image quality. On these Smartphones, the screen resolution is doubled, reaching 640 × 960 with 326 ppi.
Resolution is not the only upgrade to the iPhone's screen over the last two generations. Retina Display technology (which is essentially an in-plane switching technology) provides a far better viewing angle and brighter colors.
The Retina display includes LED backlighting and an ambient light sensor that intelligently adjusts the brightness of the screen for optimal viewing and battery life. When you lift the iPhone to your ear to take a phone call, a proximity sensor immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent accidental dialing.
